NFL 2015: Ranking the 32 offenses
25. Oakland Raiders
Oakland is starting to put together a really nice collection of talent. The Raiders have started to show that they are serious about becoming a contender again, and the offense has a chance to be better than this ranking. So why so low then? It is tough to say what we should expect from second-year quarterabck Derek Carr. While Carr threw for over 3,000 yards and 21 touchdowns as a rookie, he also was inaccurate at 58.1 percent and threw for a league-worst 5.46 yards per attempt.
Carr does however have much-improved weaponry on the outside after general manager Reggie McKenzie drafted Alabama Crimson Tide star Amari Cooper with the fourth-overall pick before signing veteran Michael Crabtree to a one-year deal. With those two on the outside, the Raiders should be able to stretch the field vertically like the old days.
McKenzie was also able to sign center Rodney Hudson away from the Kansas City Chiefs, paying him the most money for a center in NFL history. Hudson will anchor a decent line with Donald Penn responsible for guarding Carr’s blind side.
