12. Anthony Munoz

If you were to say Cincinnati Bengals’ Anthony Munoz was the best left tackle in NFL history, you’d get very little pushback. He is definitely amongst the best offensive lineman in NFL history and NFL.com named him the 12th best player in NFL history in 2010.

Considered an injury-prone risk coming into the league, Munoz proved all the doubters wrong. Over the course of his career Munoz went to 11 Pro Bowls and when he retired he was tied for the record for most Pro Bowls by an offensive lineman.

Munoz was named a First Team All-Pro nine times and to the Second Team two other times. He won the Offensive Lineman of the Year Award on three different occasions and was named to the 1980s All-Decade team.

Munoz came close to wrapping his hands around the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The Bengals made it to the Super Bowl twice, in 1981 and 1988. Unfortunately for the Bengals, they ran into the San Francisco 49ers and Joe Montana both times. Both games were close and narrow defeats, making the lack of a Super Bowl ring all the more bitter.

Munoz was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1998, the first Bengals player to be enshrined in Canton.
