25. Junior Seau
Linebacker Junior Seau was one of the best at his position throughout his storied career, and the face of the San Diego Chargers for over a decade. Seau was a 10-time All-Pro, 12-time Pro Bowl selection and named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. He was also named the 1992 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
Despite an impressive resume, Seau’s trophy case does not include the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Seau made it to one Super Bowl appearance with the San Diego Chargers in 1994. They wouldn’t get the win, losing to Steve Young and the San Francisco 49ers.
Seau would eventually join the New England Patriots and Bill Belichick to try and pursue that elusive Super Bowl win, and reached Super Bowl XLII with the Patriots. The Patriots has run the table in the regular season, finishing a perfect 16-0, but lost to Eli Manning and the New York Giants thanks to some help from David Tyree’s helmet.
Seau was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2015, after his tragic death. Seau’s No. 55 jersey has also been retired by the Chargers.
