Tennessee Titans. David Cobb. 4. player. 35.
David Cobb had a stellar final season for Minnesota last year when he ran for 1,629 yards and 11 touchdowns, but was overshadowed by some of the other backs in the Big Ten like Gordon, Coleman, Ezekiel Elliott and Jeremy Langford.

You don’t finish 11th in the nation in rushing without being a workhorse and Cobb qualifies as such. The Titans drafted Bishop Sankey in the second round last year but after a so-so rookie year they went back to the well again to upgrade the position and have high hopes for Cobb.

I don’t think Sankey will be a game-changing runner and he needs a strong preseason to prove to Ken Whisenhunt and the rest of the Titans coaching staff that they can trust him with 20 carries a game otherwise Cobb is going to take the job and run with it.

He won’t be flashy like some of the other rookie running backs, but as far as dependability and consistency are concerned, there are few better than Cobb.

You won’t have to spend a high pick on Cobb either because of the presence of Sankey which can scare off some from drafting him, but don’t be part of that crowd.

Look for Cobb to share carries with Sankey at the start of the season as the coaching staff gives last year’s second round pick every chance to prove he can carry the load. I just have more faith in Cobb’s ability than Sankey so he’ll grow out of a time share situation by mid-season, if not sooner.
. Running Back
