NBA2K has been one of the consistently great sports games over the last few years, and it just got a whole lot better.

For years, one of the best sports games on the market has been the NBA2K series. While Madden is the benchmark for popularity, 2K has been able to take a game that many could write off and make it a true experience. One of the major complaints about the Madden games is that they’re not nearly as deep as the used to be as far as franchise modes are concerned.

That’s a true criticism for the game, as a lot of work has gone into making the gameplay feel realistic at the cost of sacrificing the backend features that fans fell involve with over the last decade.

2K has heard the cries of the fans and answered in their own way. While the game was already deep and gave fans an experience behind just playing a virtual game of basketball, 2K has made the game even deeper and more attractive for fans this year. Sure, Spike Lee is involved again and the custom playlists are getting longer and more niche, but the features on this year’s edition of the game are impressive.

The most impressive of which is the ability to relocate your NBA franchise in the MyGM mode. This is something that has been missing for years and it’s finally going to be a big selling point for the series.

Among the cities you can relocate your franchise to include Honolulu and Seattle.

This was one of the cooler features of the Madden games, and it was only recently instated by EA. Still, it’s a massively stripped down version of Owner Mode in Madden and 2K has gone ahead and given us the old customizable mode that we loved. This means no only being able to pick a city to relocate your team to but customization of the arena, team name and uniforms.

It’s alright if you need a minute to recollect yourself.

This is an addition to the NBA2K games that wasn’t needed but it’s not going to be something we complain about. The bar has been set high by previous versions of the game and this is going to take things to another level. We won’t know the full functionality of the new features until the game drops, but so far it sounds like things are going to be better than ever.
