Curt Schilling and social media aren’t a good mix, as you tend to hear him say really stupid things the internet captures forever.

You can delete a tweet after you say something, but that doesn’t mean it has gone away. This is a tried and true lesson in this digital era and it’s a lesson that not everyone in the world has learned.

Namely, we’re talking about former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling.

On Tuesday morning, Schilling took to Twitter to give us another hot take that was both uninformed and completely stupid in just about every single way. The World Series winner went on social media to compare the current state of Islam and muslims in the world to Nazis and the rise of Hitler in the 1930s.

Here’s the tweet in question, which was only up for about ten minutes before the ex-pitcher took it down.

First of all, the fact that Schilling took the tweet down shows an incredible feat of intelligence that we didn’t know he was capable of.

There’s so many things wrong with this — the main thing being that someone has allowed Schilling back on Twitter. It’s like taking your teenager’s phone away so they go upstairs and start using their iPad. Schilling is a shifty old fart and just can’t be held back from flaming himself on social media with the things he says.

Have we already forgotten his now infamous evolution rant that ESPN had to step in and tell him to calm down about? There was also that time he called someone a ‘whiny buttclown’ on Twitter too.

Schilling comparing muslims and Islam to the most evil thing that has ever happened to humanity is the problem with dopey rednecks in America. Just when you think all the lead paint in the world has been huffed, Curt Schilling comes around to remind you that these people have an endless reserve and will always be around to say really stupid things that they can never take back.
