The Cleveland Browns have to be on this list because they are up for any wacky trade, idea, or deal. Remember when they drafted Trent Richardson third overall and then ended up unloading him on the Colts midseason? It seemed they would get a lot of draft value out of that deal with two first-round picks, but both Johnny Manziel and Justin Gilbert proved to be huge disappointments and very poor contributors their rookie years.

The Browns also have a questionable situation at quarterback, in part due to their 2014 first-round shenanigans.  While 2014 first-round While Manziel seems to have his head screwed on a little tighter so far this season, he was a loose cannon in 2014, both unreliable and unprofessional off the field, and ineffective on the field.

Meanwhile you know you’re in trouble at QB when you bring in 36-year-old Josh McCown to save the day. If 36-year-old Michael Vick hadn’t had the dog fighting scandal in his past, his age alone would have been a source of complaints from the Steelers fan base. And, keep in mind, Vick was just brought in as a back up, not a starter.

Could Griffin be their next savior? Would he even do well in Cleveland? Probably not. It just isn’t a very successful organization. And by “not very successful,” I mean they are doomed to fail. The addition with Griffin wouldn’t do much to change their fate.

There is still a small* chance that he could rehabilitate his career by becoming Griffin Phase Two and, in turn, save one of the most disappointing franchises in the NFL. (*By “small,” I really mean “infinitesimal.”
