Green Bay Packers – Brett Favre

Choosing Favre isn’t quite as easy as it may seem. The Packers have as much history as any franchise in the NFL, and names like Bart Starr, Forrest Gregg and Jim Taylor deserve consideration. In addition, Don Hutson was easily the best wide receiver in the history of the league when he retired (with 99 touchdown catches), and it wouldn’t be crazy to go in that direction when comparing eras as favorably as possible.

With that said, Favre is the guy.

He started every game for the Packers from 1993 through 2007, and remains the NFL record holder in completions (6,300), pass attempts (10,169) and yards (71,838). That kind of profile simply can’t be ignored, and when it comes with a Super Bowl ring and three consecutive MVP awards, that’s the icing on the cake.

There have been quarterbacks who were more efficient and better with ball security (Favre is the NFL record-holder in fumbles and interceptions), but no one has ever been more durable or prolific. Skeptics will always remain, but Brett Favre is a legend for a reason, and he is the best player in the history of the Green bay Packers.
