Most Overrated Team – Wisconsin

Losing Melvin Gordon will be a much bigger loss than people really anticipate for the Wisconsin Badgers in 2015. Sure, Corey Clement is a great running back who will employ the “next man up” mentality that Wisconsin has had at the position over the years, but he’s not Gordon.

  • Wisconsin is set up to falter. I’m not saying the Badgers are the most overrated team in the Big Ten — as that honor may go to Michigan who has been dubbed future national champs by their own fans following the Harbaugh hiring — but the Badgers have the most to prove despite being thought of as a top 25 team.

As stated earlier, Melvin Gordon’s departure will hurt the offense, as will the inconsistent quarterback play of senior Joel Stave. Last year, he struggled to put together any type of hot streak and ended with just 1,350 yards and nine scores.

It will all come down to the improvement of the young quarterback. If he can put that wretched 2014 season behind him and step up to be a leader this year, the Badgers will be in good shape.

However, I just don’t see that happening, as a team that got demolished 59-0 by Ohio State in the Big Ten title game last season returns just four starters on offense and six on defense — as well as losing its head coach to Oregon State.

Expect an underwhelming season for the Badgers in 2015.
