Big Ten Football 2015 season preview and predictions
Offensive Player of the Year – Connor Cook
Honestly, this was a tough one. It was either choose the best running back in the conference, Ezekiel Elliott, or the best gunslinger in Connor Cook. I chose the latter of the two, only because I think Cook will be more valuable to his team than Elliott will to his.

Last year, Cook was a magician in the pocket, making throws that seemed like dreams just a season before. The then-junior quarterback finished the season with 3,214 yards and 24 touchdowns with just eight interceptions, marking the second straight year in which he’s finished with more than 20 TDs and less than 10 picks.
Cook is the leader for the second-best team in the conference, and he’s coming back for his third year of starting. No other quarterback in the Big Ten has that type of experience with as much success as Cook has had.
The senior quarterback should finish with over 3,500 yards and 25 touchdowns this season, shattering former MSU passing records on his way to yet another 10-plus win season, even despite losing top receivers Tony Lippett and Keith Mumphery to the NFL this past year.
If any player in the conference has a serious shot at winning the Heisman Trophy, outside of maybe J.T. Barrett and Ezekiel Elliott, it’s Connor Cook.
