Defensive Player of the Year – Joey Bosa

Remember the hype that South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney garnered before the 2013 season? Well, Joey Bosa’s hype train isn’t quite that large, but the Ohio State defensive end might end up having a better season than Clowney had in his junior campaign.

  • Bosa, a junior out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has been phenomenal for the defending champions over his career, recording a total of 97 tackles, 21 sacks and 35 tackles for loss. This will likely be his last season as a Buckeye, but he’s still going to try and prove that he’s the best in the country at what he does.

No quarterback in the conference, including the aforementioned Connor Cook, will want to go up against the Ohio State defense for the fear of getting eaten up by Bosa.

The amount of terror he brings to the football field is unmatched in the Big Ten, and I’m willing to say that no defensive player in the country will bring more to the table than Bosa does.

If he does decide to stick around for a senior season, he could play alongside his younger brother Nick, who is a 2016 five-star defensive end recruit, ranked No. 5 in the country by 247Sports Composite.

    The Bosa family is scary-good.
