The mugshots for Ahmad Brooks and Ray McDonald have surfaced, reminding us of how depressing football can be during the offseason.

It has been a really bad offseason for the NFL, and the San Francisco 49ers are one of the teams reeling the most from a barrage of off-field issues with top players. From Aldon Smith to Ray McDonald and even Colin Kaepernick saying stupid things on Instagram, the Niners may be in a transitional era but the old problems keep coming back up.

Two of three players arrested over the last two seasons are no longer with the team — Ray McDonald and Aldon Smith are both currently free agents — with Ahmad Brooks sitting in hot water at the moment. Smith got into trouble all on his own, while McDonald and Brooks are in trouble for the same incident.

While the incident in question happened back in 2014, TMZ just recently obtained and posted the mugshots of the duo following their arrests.

The incident reportedly involved both McDonald and Brooks sexually assaulting the same woman back in 2014 at McDonald’s home.

McDonald had more than one run-in with domestic violence and sexual assault, while Brooks hasn’t had a history of being involved in these incidents but it only takes one. McDonald was signed and then cut by the Chicago Bears following his release from the Niners this offseason and the revelation of another sexual assault incident.

Brooks remains with the 49ers as of now, but with the purging of bad spirits and rotten eggs from the Bay Era, there’s no guarantee that he will remain with the team as the investigation continues.
