Most Overrated Team To Fall Flat: Virginia Tech Hokies

Heading into the 2015 college football season, there are a lot of people whispering about Virginia Tech maybe stealing the ACC from everyone else. At the very least, they’re chosen by some to at least come away from the Coastal Division as champions. With 13 starters coming back on this team, you can see where they think that way.

However, this team was terribly inept on offense last season, and even though the number of starters returning looks good on paper, the fact of the matter is that they’re not very good. They might show some improvement, especially quarterback Michael Brewer, but they have a long way to go before they can do anything on the field that would be considered “damage.”

Led by Kendall Fuller, who is one of the best defensive backs in the entire country and barring injury will be a first-round draft pick, the Hokies will no doubt have a solid defense. As long as Bud Foster is roaming those sidelines with his ornery presence, Virginia Tech will always have very little questions on the defensive side of the ball.

But, ultimately, they won’t have the offensive output to live up to the expectations that some are giving them this summer.
