Fantasy football: 8 late round TE to target
Eric Ebron-Detroit Lions
Another high-volume passing offense from the NFC North that could use a TE threat is the Detroit Lions. While the Lions have been stockpiling TE this preseason, Ebron is their highest upside option at the position. At best, Ebron could end up as the third option in the passing game behind Golden Tate and Calvin Johnson, but even as that he could still be fantasy relevant.
Ebron didn’t play in the Lions’ third preseason games for unspecified reasons, but if he gets the playing time in the regular season, he could be a breakthrough player. He’s one of the players that appears lined up for the second-year leap, but he’ll need to stay healthy and earn his playing time on the field for that to happen.
Right now, Ebron is the 22nd TE being taken and is a boom-or-bust pick with a high ceiling but also very high risk of bottoming out. Ebron is one of many late round TE that could end up in the top ten by the end of the season, so give him or one or two of the others on this list a look if you end up waiting until the end of your draft to fill what is a fairly thin fantasy football position this season.
