8. Victor Martinez-DH-Detroit Tigers: The Tigers will be glad to be home after their brutal 1-5 road trip as they continue their dismal season.  Detroit has dropped 11 of their last 13 games, and facing the AL Cy Young as the Indians visit would seem like a matchup to avoid. However, V-Mart is the first of two Tigers in our top 8 who have good history against Corey Kluber.  Martinez has gone 9-25 (.360) against Kluber in his career with three of those nine hits leaving the park.

7. Jimmy Rollins-SS-Los Angles Dodgers: The Dodgers called up uber-prospect Corey Seager for his MLB debut last night, but they might want to go back to Rollins tonight against James Shields.  Rollins is 8-17 (.471) with a double and a homer against Shields in his career.

6. Jose Lobaton-C-Washington Nationals: If you need a cheap backstop for tonight, check out the Nationals’ Jose Lobaton if he gets the start against the Braves’ Julio Teheran.  Libation is an impressive 7-13 (.538) against Teheran in he past with a double, two homers, and five RBI.  Labaton is one of the few backup catchers who hits for solid power numbers, so if he gets the start tonight he could be a nice value play.

5. Gregory Polanco-OF-Pittsburgh Pirates: While the Pirates need to get things turned around this weekend in St. Louis, Gregory Polanco needs to get his offensive game in gear as well.  Polanco is just 3-25 over the last week and hitless for September.  However, he’s in a good matchup tonight against Carlos Martinez who he has gone 8-11 (.727) against in his career with a pair of doubles, a triple, and an RBI.
