4. There’s still time to make up ground

Crazier things have happened in the game of baseball. Teams have climbed out of the cellar in the last couple months of the season to become World Series favorites. Some have even made up 10-plus games of ground in the final couple of months in order to make the postseason, so there’s no reason the Orioles can’t make up 7 games with a month left.

Sure, it’s a tall task, but this team is supremely talented and the pieces have been in place for situations such as these.

A couple of weeks ago we wouldn’t even have considered talking about the Orioles making up any ground in the AL Wild Card race, but rather how many teams would be chasing them for the remainder of the year. That just goes to show how much can change in a short span.

Baltimore will make a run over the next couple of weeks and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them sitting just three games out of the final Wild Card spot even a week from now.
