Fantasy Football: 5 sleeper plays for Week 1

4. Tyrod Taylor vs Indianapolis
Let’s be honest—even with Sammy Watkins lining up wide to snag passes, this is not a guy who we expect huge passing numbers from in an offense which is going to want to run the ball a ton.
That said, Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor is an intriguing option for those of you who need a quarterback in a pinch or want to spend your daily fantasy money elsewhere.
Taylor’s potential for gaining yards on the ground is a huge boon to fantasy owners in any format. Running yards always post better points than passing yards, and if you can combine them you might get Cam Newton’s first three years when he was a top five fantasy quarterback.
Now, Taylor isn’t in that company, nor should you expect it from him this week or this year. However, the Colts have traditionally struggled to contain the run and we expect it to still be the case this season. On top of that, we have Bills head coach Rex Ryan’s aforementioned desire to run the ball, which could include more than a few read-options and bootlegs with Taylor running.
That should be enough to produce some solid No. 2 quarterback fantasy numbers or a good alternative to sinking all your money into Tom Brady in daily fantasy.
And save you will as Taylor is dirt cheap in both FanDuel and DraftKings this week, costing you no more than $5000 at either site.
When it comes to daily fantasy, it’s critical to find ways to create cap space and Taylor is a really cheap way to do it. He has more risk than many people like in their DFS leagues, sure, but if you are able to load up everything else with studs, it’s worth the risk.
