The long-awaited game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans is underway on Sunday, meaning the battle between Marcus Mariota and Jameis Winston is ready to roll. Right out of the gate here, Mariota set the tone when he fired off a 52-yard touchdown pass on his first drive. So, how would Winston answer on his first?
Well, Winston’s first drive didn’t really go all that well.
Winston handed the ball off a few times before he was forced into a third down situation. From there, he would fire off the first pass of his NFL career and, well, it went right into the arms of Cody Sensabaugh, who took it to the house for a score.
Yeah, that maybe could have gone better. Actually, that could have gone a lot better, but this will happen in a rookie season. It’s up to Winston to start to make up for these mistakes from here on out.
But, so far, this battle is most certainly going to Mariota early on.
