  • Yeah, that didn’t exactly happen, but currently sitting in third-place in the division and just six games out of the wild card isn’t too shabby for how poorly they played for the first three months of the season.

    The potential success of the Indians was based heavily on the performance of their top players. One such player is Carlos Santana, who had been considered one of the best hitters on the team and possibly in the division.

    It’s safe to say he’s had a disappointing season that has led to a current third-place standing in the AL Central. He’s hitting just .232 with 15 homers and 68 RBI.

    Sure, the RBI total isn’t disappointing, but his average is on pace to set a career low mark and his home run total could end up being the lowest since making it to the majors as well — in a full season.

    After last year’s disappointing performance, many hoped that it was just a fluke and Santana would rebound for a much better 2015 campaign, but that has not been the case so far as he’s been just as ineffective.
