The Buffalo Bills will continue to dominate defensively.

Last season, the Buffalo Bills finished fourth in the NFL in both total defense (312.2 yards allowed per game) and scoring defense (18.1 points allowed per game), and generally, the team was terrifying defensively.

This year’s edition will be even better.

Buffalo faced arguably its most difficult matchup of the season in Week 1, taking on Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts, but Rex Ryan’s group wasn’t fazed in the slightest. Indy’s offense, led by a potential MVP candidate in Luck, is seen by many as one of the best in the NFL. Yet Buffalo did a number on the Colts, holding their opponent to just 304 total yards and forcing three turnovers in the process.

To make things even more impressive, the Bills put together this performance without their best defensive player, as star defensive lineman Marcell Dareus was suspended for the team’s opener. It isn’t difficult to comprehend the fact that one of the game’s best defensive minds in Ryan could positively impact a defense, but considering where the Bills already were as a unit on that side of the ball, the results could be staggering.
