Donte Moncrief-WR-Indianapolis Colts (31.0%)

The Colts receiving corps struggled on Sunday in week one against the Bills and may have lost a key member for a few weeks.  Indy’s top receiver T.Y. Hilton was forced to leave the game on Sunday and is considered day-to-day with what has been diagnosed as a knee bruise.

The Colts do have an extra day for Hilton to recover since they don’t play until Monday Night Football against the Jets, but it will be important to track his status throughout the coming week.  If Hilton progresses quickly, he could be back to duel with Darrell Revis on Monday night, but his status for next week is definitely unclear at this point

Regardless of Hilton’s status, Donte Moncrief is worth considering as a pick up after looking strong as the Colts third WR in their week 1 game against the Bills.  Moncrief looked more involved and effective than new acquisition Andre Johnson who is officially the team’s #2 receiver.  Since the Colts played from behind on Sunday, there were plenty of targets to go around, but Moncrief finished with 11 passes thrown his way which was second only to Hilton’s 14 targets.  Moncrief caught six of those passes for 46 yards as well as Andrew Luck’s only touchdown pass to a wide receiver.

Even if Hilton is healthy, Moncrief showed enough upside to be a solid WR3 or WR4 most weeks in Indianapolis’s potent passing attack.  The prospect that Hilton could miss time, though, makes him the second-best WR pickup off the fantasy football waiver wire headed into week 2.
