Jordan Reed-TE-Washington Redskins (32.0%)

If you need tight end upgrade or some additional depth at the position and Tyler Eifert was already grabbed by someone else in your league, Jordan Reed is a very nice pickup after a big game on Sunday.  Reed has produced nice games when he’s been healthy the last few seasons, but his durability concerns left him undrafted in many leagues.

Reed was listed in my last-minute sleepers post Sunday morning and he ended up with a bigger game than I even expected due in part to the injury to DeSean Jackson.  Reed was targeted a team-high 11 times in the Redskins loss to the Dolphins finishing with seven catches for 63 yards and a touchdown.

Jackson’s hamstring injury is supposed to keep him sidelined for the next several weeks will makes Reed a top-ten tight end based simply on the volume of work he’ll get his way in the coming games. While his durability is still a question longterm, he’s definitely an option to start this week as Reed and the Redskins face the Rams in week 2. There are a number of good tight end options on the fantasy football waiver wire, but Reed is the one who I think is lined up for the highest volume of targets in the next few weeks making him an especially good pickup in PPR leagues.
