Tight Ends

Rob Gronkowski-New England Patriots (8,300): Gronk costs way more than any other tight end option since he is so transcendent at the position. He is lined up for a monster year as he and Tom Brady take out their deflate-gate frustrations on the rest of the NFL. Gronk opened the year with three touchdowns and 94 yards on his five catches against the Steelers, and he’ll look to continue his roll in a matchup he has dominated the past few seasons. Last year he caught nine passes for 94 yards in the Patriots 52-28 win in Buffalo, and I think he’ll produce another very nice game this week.  Gronk is a salary you’ll have to work around with sleepers elsewhere, but there’s no doubt he’s the most reliable elite TE in the NFL.

Tyler Eifert-Cincinnati Bengals (5,900): I don’t think Eifert’s week 1 production was a fluke as he hauled in nine catches for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns.  Granted, he was playing the Raiders, so the competition will surely get harder this week against the Chargers. However, he is obviously a gigantic part of the Bengals passing game and had Andy Dalton’s attention in the red zone.  His injuries have held him back before, but if he stays healthy he’s set up for a monster year.

Jordan Reed-Washington Redskins (5,000): Much like Tyler Eifert, Jordan Reed has been hounded by multiple injuries throughout his career which have held him back from reaching his potential. However, with DeSean Jackson for a few weeks, Reed will get all the work he can handle as the Redskins host the Rams.  Reed caught seven passes for 63 yards in week 1 on a team-high 11 targets.  Reed should continue to see plenty of passes come his way.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins-Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4,500): ASJ is a little pricey, but it’s understandable after his monster game week 1 against the Titans.  He had five catches for 110 yards and a touchdown from Jameis Winston.  With Mike Evans still struggling to get on the field to work with Winston, ASJ should get more targets this week in a good matchup against the Saints who gave up 82 yards and a touchdown to the Cardinals tight end Darren Fells.

Last Week: Greg Olsen, Kyle Rudolph, Larry Donnell
