QB Studs

Ben Roethlisberger-Pittsburgh Steelers: Big Ben threw for 369 yards in the Steelers 43-18 destruction of the 49ers. He completed 21 of his 27 passes including three touchdowns and a successful two-point conversion.  Roethlisberger looked sharp and the Steelers offense will be even better when it adds Le’Veon Bell next week.

Tom Brady-New England Patriots: Brady’s revenge tour continued throwing for league-high 466 yards in Buffalo in week 2. The number is even more impressive since it came against a supposedly tough Bills defense. Brady threw for three touchdowns, but he did lose a fumble late in the Patriots’ 40-32 win.

Carson Palmer-Arizona Cardinals: Palmer and the Cardinals won big as well as they rolled over the Bears 48-23  Even though he only threw for 185 yards on 17 of 24 passing, Palmer had a good fantasy day since he threw for four touchdown strikes although he did also throw a pick.

Cam Newton-Carolina Panthers: Newton and the Panthers held on and escaped with a win for the second week in a row as they held off the Texans 24-17.  Newton finished with 195 yards passing and a pair of touchdown throws to go with a touchdown run and 76 yards on the ground.  Newton carried the Panthers to the win almost single-handedly and he’ll have to keep being superman as the Panthers host the Saints next week.

Colin Kaepernick-San Francisco 49ers: Since the Steelers jumped out to an early lead, Kaepernick had to throw the ball a ton to try and catch up.  He finished with 335 yards passing and a pair of touchdowns while adding 51 yards rushing and a two-point conversion.  He didn’t turn the ball over, but he couldn’t help the 49ers get a road win in the Steel City either.

Ryan Tannehill-Miami Dolphins: Although the Dolphins lost to the Jaguars, Tannehill actually had good numbers throwing for 359 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Next week, he’ll have to face Rex and the Bills, so he’s remains on the fringe of QB1 status.
