Travis Benjamin-WR-Cleveland Browns (6.2%)

Another big-play specialist who went off in week 2 is Browns’ receiver Travis Benjamin who finished with three touchdowns and was only outscored at WR in ESPN standard scoring by Larry Fitzgerald.  Two of Benjamin’s touchdowns came on long passes from Johnny Manziel and the third came on a punt return.

While the dreads and return skils may remind Browns’ fans of Josh Cribs, Benjamin has also been a big enough part of the Browns offensive attack to deserve some attention on the week 3 waiver wire.  Even though he has only been targeted seven times in two games, Benjamin has six catches for 204 total yards and three touchdowns.  He is a home run threat, and Johnny Manziel has bene able to get him the ball in the space he has needed to make big plays.

Given the great connection Benjamin has with Manziel and his ability to take any touch to the house, look for the Browns to continue to integrate him into their offense.  Cleveland doesn’t have a great group of receivers, so Benjamin should keep getting opportunities.  In week 3, the Browns match up with the suddenly-solid Raiders attack in what could end up being a sneaky productive fantasy game. Steve Smith Sr. just posted a great game against Oakland and there had been plenty of room to operate in the Raiders secondary making Benjamin a boom-or-bust flier for week 3.
