Derek Carr-QB-Oakland Raiders (10.5%)

If the Raiders are going to throw a lot, it makes sense that Derek Carr could be ready to post usable numbers.  Starting Carr as your QB1 at this point is a very bold move, but holding his as your backup or your second QB could be a strategic move that pays off if he has more performances like last week.

In week 2, Carr played his first full game of the season and ripped up a Ravens’ defense that totally shut down Peyton Manning in week 1.  Carr attempted 46 passes completing 30 passes for 351 yards and connecting for three touchdowns with three different receivers.  Carr started the game with a long touchdown to Amari Cooper, and he finished with a last-second, game-winning touchdown throw to rookie Seth Roberts in his second career game out of West Alabama.

Carr is being trusted to make the throws and showing he has plenty of upside.  It’s just one week, but if you need a QB option Carr showed he can make the plays to put up big fantasy numbers.
