Leonard Hankerson-WR-Atlanta Falcons (3.8%)

The Falcons moved to 2-0 with a come-from-behind win over the Giants in which New York definitely gave them some help.  That being said, a important shift happened in the Atlanta passing attack as Roddy White had no catches and just one target while Leonard Hankerson drew plenty of attention from Matt Ryan.

While Julio Jones is always going to be the focus of opposing defenses and the Atlanta aerial attack, Hankerson was targeted 11 times (compared to 15 for Juio).  Of his 11 targets Hankerson hauled in six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown.  He had another touchdown taken away when he was ruled down just short of the goal line, but showed he can definitely contribute to the Falcons’ attack.

With Roddy White’s injury history, Hankerson definitely has enough upside to be rostered and even started as a flex flier this week as the Falcons head to Dallas to face the Cowboys.  Atlanta lost part of their running back duo when Tevin Coleman went down, so don’t expect offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan to abandon the passing game any time soon.  With Matt Ryan spreading the wealth, I expect Hankerson to continue to emerge as a fantasy option throughout the rest of the season.
