Raiders won’t paint “50” gold for Super Bowl celebration
Throughout the 2015 National Football League season, you may have noticed a ton of gold. The league is really pushing the 50th anniversary of the Super Bowl, and part of that is painting the NFL logo gold, along with the numerals at the 50-yard line of every stadium. Well, every stadium except for one.

The Oakland Raiders have refused to paint the 50s on the field in gold, sticking with the traditional white, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
"“The Raiders have asked us not to do that,” AEG Facilities VP and O.Co Coliseum G.M. Chris Wright told Don Muret of SportsBusiness Daily."
While the team has not talked about why the field will remain without gold, there are a few easy guesses. Former owner Al Davis consistently butted heads with the league on many issues, and his son Mark Davis is having plenty of problems as well. The Raiders desperately want a new stadium in Oakland but have been turned back, perhaps leading them to Los Angeles or San Antonio at some point in the near future. Another theory is the franchise being ticked off that the San Francisco 49ers are hosting the Super Bowl in Santa Clara, Calif. in February. Florio mentions that the Raiders are not thrilled with the 49ers for not sharing the new stadium, which opened last year.
The league has maintained that Oakland will get in line once the baseball season ends, but Wright has claimed that is a falsehood, per PFT.
"“It has nothing to do with baseball,” Wright said. “The last six home baseball games are through this weekend, and there will be no gold marks for the rest of the Raiders’ regular season.”"
While it is a little thing, the Raiders are showing absolutely no respect for embattled commissioner Roger Goodell.
