David Johnson-Arizona Cardinals (56.4%)

Last week, David Johnson’s teammate Chris Johnson made my top waiver wire running backs with David falling just off the list since his touches were uncertain.  How much work Johnson gets is still going to be his limiting fantasy factor, but it looks like the rookie is going to force his way to more playing time.

In week 2, David Johnson got the rushing touchdown to go with his 42 yards on five carries while Chris Johnson got more of the work running for 72 yards on 20 carries but not getting into the end zone.  David Johnson also returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown an looked like a dynamic talent who can provide some big plays for an Arizona offense that could use some in the running game.

This week, the Cardinals will again be without starter Andre Ellington and the Johnson & Johnson backfield will again be in full effect.  Chris is likely to get more carries again, but David’s playmaking ability make him the high-upside player I’d rather own going forward.  He’s more boom-or-bust than his fellow Johnson, but David has the tools to continue contributing even after Ellington returns.
