High Priced Quarterbacks

Russell Wilson (7,000): Wilson and the 0-2 Seahawks are desperate to get into the win column as they come home and host the Bears.  Chicago’s secondary has given up more passing touchdowns than any other NFL team through the first two weeks of the season, so look for Wilson to be able to post a good line against them this week.  The only way Wilson could have a less than great game is if the Seahawks defense dominates Jimmy Clausen and the Bears offense so much that the game is decided early and the Seattle offense doesn’t have to do much at all.

Cam Newton (6,800): Cam’s cats have had to rely on him even more than usual this season since they have so few weapons in their receiving corps.  Newton has continued to deliver, though, despite his lack of weapons and posted an impressive 28.4 DraftKings points last week as he threw for two touchdowns and 195 yards and added 76 yards rushing and a third score.  This week, he and the Panthers can move to 3-0 and drop the New Orleans to 0-3 at the same time as they host Drew Brees and the struggling Saints.  New Orleans defense ranks 27th in the NFL against opposing QB’s so far this season on DraftKings even though they haven’t played a dynamic talent like Cam yet.  Look or Newton to help Carolina bury New Orleans this week.

Carson Palmer (6,600): Palmer finally gets some love on DraftKings where he’s in the top 12 QB’s ranked for the first time this week.  So far this year, Palmer is the third-highest scoring QB behind only Tom Brady’s revenge tour and Big Ben’s Pittsburgh air-show.  Palmer threw four touchdowns in week 2 posting 28.7 DraftKings points.  This week, he and the Cardinals face the 49ers who are hard to get a ready on since they looked excellent on defense in week 1 and absolutely dreadful last week as Big Ben shredded them.  Since it’s a divisional game, it will probably be a slug fest, but Palmer has shown he can be an excellent performer when he’s healthy which he is right now.  He has thrown for multiple touchdowns in each of the eight games he has been able to finish, and he’ll look to keep that streak going again this week in the desert.
