High Priced Quarterbacks

Russell Wilson (8,400): Wilson and the 0-2 Seahawks are desperate to get into the win column as they come home and host the Bears. In his first two games, Wilson has posted 16.14 and 23.04 FanDuel points throwing for three touchdowns and rushing for over 100 yards total in the two games.  Look for an even more productive this week since  Chicago’s secondary has given up more passing touchdowns than any other NFL team through the first two weeks of the season, so look for Wilson to be able to post a good line against them this week.  The only way Wilson could have a less than great game is if the Seahawks defense dominates Jimmy Clausen and the Bears offense so much that the game is decided early and the Seattle offense doesn’t have to do much at all.

Carson Palmer (8,100): Palmer finally gets some daily fantasy love as he moves into the top 10 salaries on FanDuel.  On FanDuel, he enters this week as the second-highest scoring QB behind only Tom Brady’s revenge tour.  Palmer threw four touchdowns in week 2 against the Bears posting 22.2 FanDuel points.  This week, he and the Cardinals face the 49ers who are hard to get a ready on since they looked excellent on defense in week 1 and absolutely dreadful last week as Big Ben shredded them.  Since it’s an NFC West game, it will probably be a slug fest, but Palmer has shown he can be an excellent performer when he’s healthy which he is right now.  He has thrown for multiple touchdowns in each of the eight games he has been able to finish, and I think he’ll get that streak to nine this week.

Cam Newton (7,900): On FanDuel, Newton is a great value as the 13th most expensive QB on the board.  He has continued to produce nice stat lines even in the absence of big-name receivers.  Newton posted an impressive 28.4 FanDuel points last week as he threw for two touchdowns and 195 yards and added 76 yards rushing and a third score.  This week, he and the Panthers can move to 3-0 and drop the New Orleans to 0-3 at the same time as they host Drew Brees and the struggling Saints.  New Orleans defense has shown no signs that they’re ready to contain Cam since they struggled with Jameis Winston last week, so look for Newton to put up another nice collection of numbers this week.
