High Priced Running Backs

Jamaal Charles (8,700): If you’re going to spend on a high-salary running back, the top name to target is Jamaal Charles who will have had 11 days to dwell on his game-ending fumble last Thursday against the Broncos.  Before he coughed it up at the worst possible moment, Charles had actually had a strong game running for 125 yards and a touchdown to go with his pair of lost fumbles. He’ll look to take his anger and frustration out on the Packers this week on Monday Night Football, and I expect Andy Reid to get him the ball early and often in an attempt to keep Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense on the sidelines. Charles is the only running back who has posted over 15 FanDuel points in each of the first two weeks and a solid option to go with atop the RB salary structure.

LeSean McCoy (7,500): McCoy has had a pair of productive weeks even though he has battled hamstring issues and been held out of the end zone.  In week 1, he had 20 touches and finished with 87 total yards against the Colts, and then he improved that by taking 18 touches for 116 yards against the Patriots.  Karlos Williams vulturing his touchdowns is reason for concern, but with all the injuries and question marks high in the RB salary structure, McCoy’s heavy involvement in the Bills attack makes him an attractive option.

Latavius Murray (7,000):  The Raiders got a big win against Baltimore at home last week to move to 1-1, but much of the offensive work had to be done through the air leaving Murray just 15 carries.  He did produce 65 yards and a touchdown on those carries while adding 22 yards on three catches to finish with 16.2 FanDuel points.  As the Raiders hit the road for the first time this season, they head to Cleveland where they’ll face the Browns who have let Chris Ivory and Dexter McCluster put up nice fantasy days.  If the Raiders aren’t forced to play from behind, look for Murray to get more of a workload, and he should be a nice producer from outside the elite range of FanDuel salaries.
