Fantasy football waiver wire: Week 4 Pickups top 10 to target
Lance Dunbar-RB-Dallas Cowboys (13.1%)
It’s unusual for a running back with only two carries on the season to make his way into my top ten fantasy football waiver wire pickups, but Dunbar does just that after another solid week of work as a receiver out of the backfield.
Especially in PPR leagues, Dunbar is a must-add since he is serving such an important role in the current Brandon Weeden checkdown-fest in Dallas. On Sunday, Dunbar was targeted a massive ten times hauling in all ten passes and finishing with 100 yards even. That means that in week 3, Dunbar had more passes come his way than Odell Beckham, Rob Gronkowski, Jordan Matthews, and Jimmy Graham. He’s obviously an important cog in the Cowboys passing attack and should keep getting plenty of passes for as long as Weeden is running the show.
This week, the three-running-back rotation of the Cowboys heads to New Orleans where they’ll take on the 0-3 New Orleans Saints. While Joseph Randle ran for three touchdowns early, the clear preference of Dallas on passing downs is Dunbar and he’s getting chances to make plays. If you’re in a non-PPR league, he’s still the best widely available option, but he’s definitely worth owning if your league gives you a point for every catch.
