60. . WR. Pittsburgh. Tyler Boyd. 17. player

The Minnesota Vikings are at the bottom of the league in passing yards. Mike Wallace hasn’t been a consistently awesome player since early on in his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Cordarrelle Patterson hasn’t panned out the way the Vikings had hoped, and neither Kyle Rudolph nor Charles Johnson are effective receivers.

The Vikings could go for a wide receiver in the first round of the draft to fortify their arsenal of offensive weapons. University of Pittsburgh Panthers wide receiver Tyler Boyd is a smart choice for the Vikings. Larry Fitzgerald played at pitt, and Boyd has already drawn comparisons to the star receiver who now plays for the Arizona Cardinals.

In 2014, Boyd had 1,261 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Boyd was suspended for the first game of the season, but is still racking up impressive numbers with 226 yards in just two games.

At 6’2″, Boyd is speedy, has great ball tracking skills, and stays focused even in difficult situations. Though he is in a weaker conference than other players entering the draft, he has played against Kendall Fuller, one of the best cornerbacks in college football.

An offseason DUI arrest is a red flag, but maturity and time could land Boyd on the right track. A career in the NFL should also be enough incentive to stay on the straight and narrow, but it is frustratingly common for college athletes to continue to make career-limiting mistakes.
