The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are destined to have another early pick in the first round of the 2015 draft. Quarterback and 2014 first-overall pick Jameis Winston is not having the same caliber season thus far as the Tennessee Titans first-round pick Marcus Mariota. Even if Winston was the perfect quarterback, he could not lead his team to dominance in the league during Year 1. The Buccaneers have too many deficiencies. One area that needs improvement is the defense.

If Tampa Bay gets to pick before the Saints, which is still distinctly possible, they should pick Bosa. If Bosa is not available, defensive end Robert Nkemdiche is their man, and a natural fit for Lovie Smith’s program. For a player who stands 6’4″ and 300 pounds, Nkemdiche has unusual speed, balance, and agility.

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze had some fun with Nkemdiche, putting him in at fullback, from which position he scored a 32-yard touchdown. He’s super-athletic. How athletic? NFL.com rated him No. 7 in freakish athleticism. Also, despite his affable appearance on his Ole Miss profile, the site ranked him the No. 11 scariest player in college football.

On the defensive side of the ball, he leverages those same skills to be a ubiquitous, menacing force on the field. Though he hasn’t generated as many sacks as scouts had predicted out of high school, he makes disruptive, game-changing plays that don’t always show up in the stats.
