Eastern Michigan (+45) over No. 9 LSU

I’m almost never laying 45 points with anyone, and any team coached by Les Miles doesn’t fit into that category. The Tigers are going to win comfortably, but they’ll do it by dominating on the ground, and that isn’t the best recipe for covering a six-plus touchdown spread.

No. 13 Alabama (+2.5) over No. 8 Georgia

This is one of the two “game of the day” type events, and all eyes will be on Athens. For me, this is a situation where I trust Alabama until they tell me not to. Yes, Nick Saban’s team already sustained a loss against Ole Miss, but that game featured multiple fluky plays that appeared to swing the margin. Beyond that, Georgia doesn’t match up nearly as well with the Tide as the Rebels did. Saban’s teams usually perform well against pro-style offenses, and even with Nick Chubb’s brilliance I’ll take Alabama. If you can get a field goal, run to the window without hesitation.

Arizona State (+14) over No. 7 UCLA

I just can’t quit Arizona State and I just can’t quit fading UCLA. Truthfully, this line is just too high after last weekend, with UCLA winning by a million and Arizona State falling in similar fashion. It is understandable that you would want to go the other way and I won’t fight you on it, but any value that can be extracted is with the Sun Devils.

No. 12 Clemson (-1) over No. 6 Notre Dame

I’m betting on Deshaun Watson. The rest of the Notre Dame roster is better in my estimation, but Irish quarterback DeShone Kizer must travel into a brutal environment for the opposition, while his counterpart (Watson) will be all too comfortable. Home-field advantage means a lot in this spot, and that is the tiebreaker in taking Clemson with less than a field goal of margin, especially with the pile of injuries sustained by Notre Dame.
