5 Postseason keys for the New York Mets

Yoenis For The Rest Of Us
For the Mets to make a deep run, Yoenis Cespedes needs to be the force that he has been throughout his stint as a New York Met. Cespedes has posted a .294/.338/.624 slash line with 17 homers and 44 RBI in just 52 games. He has been a huge part in taking one of the worst offenses in the game to now being one of the best.
It’s not just about the numbers. It’s about the presence he has. That’s a big bat in the middle of the lineup that helps guys like David Wright who’s ahead of him and Lucas Duda behind him.
Cespedes has also hit some clutch homers. He hit a game winner against the Nationals in that huge comeback for the Mets. He had a three homer game in Colorado, but hasn’t homered since September 14. Cespedes can play left or center which gives the Mets some flexibility to use Michael Conforto or Juan Lagares.
Cesepedes needs to continue to be that guy in the middle of the lineup. He needs to be that bat that puts the fear into the opposing pitchers. If he doesn’t hit, the other batters like Wright and Duda are going to have to really pick it up. If Cespedes hits like he did when he got to New York. Look out.
