Wide Receiver Week 5 sleepers

Keenan Allen-San Diego Chargers (FD-7,700, DK-7,200): Like his teammate Rivers, Allen isn’t a true sleeper, but he’s a non-elite option I think will have elite production this week based on his matchup and situation. The Chargers are short WR since Malcom Floyd and Steve Johnson are both banged up (although Floyd is expected to give it a go).  Given the Steelers struggles in the secondary and Rivers’ lack of options, look for Allen to pile up targets and catches this Monday night giving you a nice finishing kick to your daily league.

Jordan Matthews (FD-6,800, DK-6,400): Matthews is coming off a disappointing game last week against the Redskins when he only caught three passes for 50 yards and didn’t get into the end zone.  This week, he should be set to bounce back against the Saints.  He remains the team’s top WR and should be just fine going forward.  Look for a recovery game from him this week and take advantage of his lowered price after last week’s slow game.

James Jones (FD-6,400, DK-5,700): James Jones fell just short of 100 yards last week finishing with 98 yards on five catches.  He has been limited this week due to a hamstring but is listed as probable for Sunday’s game against the Rams.  He should be lined up for more targets again this week since Davante Adams is still sidelined with his ankle injury leaving Jones to serve as the team’s second WR.

Travis Benjamin-Cleveland Browns (FD-6,200, DK-4,500): Benjamin has emerged as the team’s top receiver since Dwayne Bowe can’t get healthy enough to be on the field. He didn’t get into the end zone last week snapping a three-game scoring streak but he still led the team with six catches for 79 yards on his ten targets.  The Ravens secondary has struggled all season, so Benjamin should be lined up for another productive week.
