QB Duds

Matthew Stafford-Detroit Lions: As good as the Cardinals looked in their win, the Lions looked equally as bad.  Stafford was a mess and posted single-digit fantasy points of the third straight week.  He had a season-low 188 yards passing and threw a season-high three interceptions to go with one passing touchdown before being pulled midway through the third quarter.

Matt Ryan-Atlanta Falcons: Atlanta escaped with a win against a plucky Washington Redskins team despite a subpar day from Ryan.  Matty Ice only threw for 254 yards and no touchdowns while turning the ball over three times.  Fortunately, the defense and the running game were strong enough to carry the day for the Falcons, and hopefully your other fantasy players picked up the slack for Ryan who will need to bounce back on a quick turnaround for Thursday Night Football.

Peyton Manning-Denver Broncos: Manning has been a recurring character on our QB duds list much to his owners chagrin.  He was outscored this week by Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston, Alex Smith, Derek Carr, and even Dan Orlovsky.  Manning threw for 266 yards and no touchdowns while throwing two more interceptions.  Manning has thrown at least one pick in every game this season and has seven interceptions compared to just six touchdowns.  However, the Denver defense was just good enough on Sunday once again to keep the Broncos undefeated.

Marcus Mariota-Tennessee Titans: Even though his team led until almost the very end of the game, it was a rough game for Marcus Mariota as the Titans lost a close game to the Bills. It was his first NFL game without a touchdown and Mariota threw for just 187 yards and one interception.  He saved some fantasy value by running for 47 yards, but owners should expect better from him next week as he takes on the struggling Dolphins’ defense.
