RB Studs

Devonta Freeman-Atlanta Falcons: It took him a while to get going, but for the third straight week, Devonta Freeman posted a big fantasy line. Freeman finished this week’s overtime win with 153 yards and a touchdown on his 27 carries and added 44 yards on his seven catches out of the backfield.  Freeman wasn’t threatened at all by the return of Tevin Coleman and should be locked in as the Falcons running back of choice going forward.  Atlanta will try to stay undefeated as they take on the Saints this Thursday.

Justin Forsett-Baltimore Ravens: Forsett had his second big week in a row and capped his big-yardage performance with a touchdown this week.  He finished with 121 yards on his 21 carries including his rushing touchdown and added 49 yards on four catches in the Ravens overtime loss to Cleveland.

DeMarco Murray-Philadelphia Eagles: Murray had by far his best day with the Eagles and had over 100 all-purpose yards in Philadelphia’s win over New Orleans.  Murray had a rushing touchdown on his 20 carries for 83 yards and added seven receptions for an additional 37 yards.

Matt Forte-Chicago Bears: Forte hauled in Jay Cutler’s game-winning pass in the closing seconds of the Bears’ 18-17 win to add insult to Jamaal Charles’ injury for the Chiefs.  Forte ran for 71 yards and had 38 yards receiving on his five catches including the game-winning touchdown.

Frank Gore-Indianapolis Colts: On Thursday Night Football, the Colts rode old-man power as Gore, Andre Johnson, and Matt Hasselbeck led them to the win in Houston.  Gore did his part finishing with 98 yards and a rushing touchdown.  He looked good for the second time in three weeks and could be growing in to the RB2 that he was drafted to be.

Carlos Hyde-San Francisco 49ers: Hyde had his best performance since week 1 as he ran for 93 yards on 21 carries against the Giants in a losing effort.  He did get it into the end zone and added a four-yard reception.

Dion Lewis-New England Patriots: Lewis returned to his role as the Patriots’ primary back with another solid game in New England’s win in Dallas.  Lewis ran for 34 yards on six carries and added a touchdown receiving as part of his eight catches for 59 yards. He was targeted 11 times and continues to be very involved in the Patriots’ passing attack.
