Report: Broncos’ DeMarcus Ware to miss next two weeks with back injury
By John Buhler
DeMarcus Ware will likely miss the next two weeks with a back injury suffered in the Denver Broncos’ victory over AFC West rival Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, the Denver Broncos will be without outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware the next two weeks, as he suffered a back injury versus the Oakland Raiders in Week 5.
Even though Ware will miss the next two weeks for the Broncos, Denver only has one game on their schedule as Ware nurses his back injury. The Denver Broncos will travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns in Week 6, but will have their bye on Week 7.
It seems as though the Denver Broncos would prefer to have their vaunted pass rushing duo of DeMarcus Ware and Von Miller at full strength when Denver hosts the NFC juggernaut Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football in Week 8.
Denver remains undefeated due in large part to their outstanding defensive unit. Many are claiming this 2015 group under new Defensive Coordinator Wade Phillips as possibly the best defense that Denver has seen since the days of Orange Crush.
Defense wins football games, but the Denver D has carried the Broncos this season. Quarterback Peyton Manning is rapidly losing arm strength as a passer and running back C.J. Anderson has looked ineffective in the first five games of 2015.
The pass rushing duo of Ware and Miller are as good as what any team has in the NFL. Denver should survive their road game against Cleveland, but their offense needs to step up against the Browns in Week 6 should the Broncos want to remain undefeated. The Broncos plan on having Ware back at full strength, and hopefully undefeated, when the Packers come to the Mile High City for Sunday Night Football on Week 8.
