High Value Quarterbacks

Andy Dalton (5,700): Dalton is having a breakout season statistically as the Bengals have started red hot.  He has thrown for over 300 yards in each of the last three weeks and has multiple touchdowns in four of his five games this season.  He  even got it done last week against the Seahawks vaunted defense throwing for 331 yards and two scores while adding a third TD on the ground.  Dalton and the Bengals are on the road this week in Buffalo where Rex Ryan is sure to have some tricks ready for the Red Rifle. However, the Bills’ defense actually ranks 25th against opposing QB’s, so there are points to be made as Dalton and the Bengals try to stay undefeated.

Teddy Bridgewater (5,300): When last we saw Bridgewater, he was unsuccessfully trying to lead the Vikings on a game winning drive against the Broncos.  He finished that week 4 contest with a season-high 269 yards passing and added 23 yards on the ground.  This week, Bridgewater will look to build on that performance as he and the Vikings come off their bye and take on a vulnerable Chiefs defense.  Kansas City has allowed the second-most fantasy points to opposing QB’s, so look for Bridgewater to be a solid sleeper option at a very cheap price this week.

Blake Bortles (5,200): Another cheap option to take a look at is Blake Bortles as he leads the Jags against their second weak defense in a row.  Last week, he threw for 303 yards and four TD’s in the Jags’ loss against the Bucs, and this week the Jaguars return home to host the struggling Texans.  Houston’s defense struggled to contain Matt Hasslebeck last Thursday, so Bortles should find enough room to make him a cheap flier worth playing if you spend big elsewhere and decide to go cheap under center.

Week 5 picks: Marcus Mariota, Alex Smith, Josh McCown
