Fantasy football: DraftKings week 6 picks
High Priced Running Backs
Adrian Peterson (7,600): The running back at the top of the price pool that I would target this week is Adrian Peterson as the Vikings host the Chiefs. Peterson started the season slow in San Francisco, but he knocked off the rust and has put up three strong games since then. This week, as he and Teddy Bridgewater take on the Jamaal Charles-less Chiefs, I expect them to be playing from ahead which should mean plenty of carries for Peterson and a big yardage total at the end of the day.
Matt Forte (7,100): The only other RB over 7K on DraftKings week 6 that I would consider is Forte who has at least 100 all-purpose yards in all but one of the Bears’ games this season–their shutout on the road in Seattle. Last week he caught the game-winning touchdown as part of five catches for 38 yards and added 71 yards on his 18 carries. He’s in what usually is a tough matchup against the Lions’ defense this week, but the whole Detroit team has been such a mess that even their run-defense hasn’t been good. Last week, they allowed three rushing TDs to the Cardinals running backs, and Forte is involved enough in the Chicago offense every week that he should be able to put together a good line even if Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Royal return to spread around the touches.
Dion Lewis (5,800): The Patriots have run the ball extremely well against the Colts in their last few meetings, and they should be ready to pile on the points against Indy this week. Lewis is a great option on DraftKings due to the PPR format. He has caught at least four passes every game this season and had a season-high 23.3 DraftKings points last week on 34 yards rushing and eight catches to go with 59 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown. He has clearly been the Patriots’ top back with LeGarrette Blount taking some work late in games, and he should continue to produce as the Pats run up the score on Sunday night.
Chris Ivory (5,100): Ivory burned fantasy owners in week 3 without getting a touch even though he was active, but he returned with a monster game in week 4 rushing for 166 yards and a touchdown against the Dolphins in London. After a bye week, the Jets host Washington who had been good against opposing running backs before last week when Devonta Freeman had a good game against them. With all the injuries and matchup issues in this price range, Ivory is the option that I trust the most since he should get a big workload and be able to find some room against Washington.
Week 5 Picks: Le’Veon Bell, Eddie Lacy, Devonta Freeman, Justin Forsett
