High Priced Wide Receivers

Odell Beckham Jr. (9,100): With Antonio Brown struggling without Big Ben and Julio Jones on a snap count for tonight’s game against the Saints, Beckham is the top receiver for the week, but he’s dealing with his own injury after tweaking a hammy last Sunday. In good news, he has an extra day to recover wince the Giants don’t play until Monday Night Football, and he also gets a tasty matchup against the struggling Eagles’ secondary. There’s more risk playing Beckham on FanDuel where the whole lineup locks at kickoff of the first game, but I think he’s still the top WR option. Last week before leaving injured, Beckham had seven catches for 121 yards and a touchdown giving him at least 17 FanDuel points in three of his last four games.

DeAndre Hopkins (8,500): If Beckham’s injury or price tag scare you away, go with Hopkins who is a target monster in the  Houston offense which gets a nice matchup this week against the Jaguars.  Hopkins has three straight games with at least 20 FanDuel points after last week’s 11-catch, 169-yard performance against the Colts.  With Brian Howyer back at QB, look for Hopkins to get plenty of throws his way yet again as the Texans look to go to Jacksonville and get a road win.

Brandon Marshall (8,000): Don’t forget Brandon Marshall after his trip across the pond and bye week.  The Jets host Washington who rank 21st in the league against opposing WR, and Marshall has been a consistently strong option this season in the Jets’ passing attack.  He has three touchdowns in his four games this season and has at least 100 yards in each of his last three.  He has at least 15 FanDuel points in every game the Jets have played, and he’s a good pick to produce at that level again this week.

Julian Edelman (7,900): Edelman remains the top WR target for Brady and finished with 120 yards and a touchdown even though he only had four catches on Sunday in Dallas.  He should be back to his PPR-monster self this week and is a solid option even at his elevated price.

Jarvis Landry (7,300): Landry has double-digit targets in all four of the Dolphins’ games this season.  He only was able to haul in four passes in Miami’s ugly week 4 loss to the Jets finishing with 40 yards receiving and adding 29 more on the ground.  It was a tough matchup against the Jets, though, and I expect him to bounce back with a good game against the Titans this week. Landry’s elusiveness and explosion have been on display on punt returns this season, and I think eventually Ryan Tannehill will get him the ball in a position to showcase his abilities as part of the struggling Miami offense.
