1. Carolina Panthers

I told you there was a chance that at least one undefeated team goes down this week and the popular choice for that dubious honor is without question the Carolina Panthers. They’ve had the easiest unbeaten road to this point and now they are going to have an enormous test as they go on the road to CenturyLink Field to take on a hungry Seattle Seahawks team. I do realize that the Seahawks are favored relatively heavily in this game, but it’d be hard not to call a 2-3 team beating a 4-0 team an upset.

For starters, the Seahawks are unequivocally the best defense that the Panthers will have faced to this point. While Carolina’s offensive line has held together up to now, there were doubts about the group’s effectiveness in protecting Cam Newton coming into the year and the Seahawks have the type of pass rush that could make that a problem once again. Not to mention that the Panthers receiving corp is depleted and short on weapons, which isn’t kind to them when they’re up against a good secondary who’s upset at how they performed in a loss last week.

Seattle’s loss last week is probably the biggest reason why I think that the Panthers won’t leave Week 6 with an undefeated record. The Seahawks choked against the Cincinnati Bengals last week and lost because they let the Bengals come back on them and essentially make them look silly. This team is too talented and too prideful to go down like that again; they’ll be ready for a war on Sunday in a game that they really need to stay competitive in the NFC West. The Panthers can still be a good football team, but Sunday has trouble written all over it for them in Seattle.
