16. Dallas Cowboys – Washington Redskins

The division rivalry between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins further illustrates just how much animosity is found among fans and players alike in the daunting NFC East.

Dallas and Washington have been rivals since the Cowboys were introduced into the NFL as an expansion team in 1960. Dallas selected former Redskins great Eddie LaBaron to be its first starting quarterback, and when the teams were moved to the same division the following year, the rivalry began its path towards crafting a spot in football lore.

The rivalry has featured countless great moments, including a pair of NFC Championship Game meetings, both of which were won by the Redskins.  To add to the historic value of this rivalry, Dallas and Washington have combined for an astonishing eight Super Bowl victories and 29 division titles since the rivalry began.

The two teams have met 110 times throughout their history, and although the Cowboys have thoroughly dominated the series with a record of 65-43-2, the animosity and memorable moments it has generated have earned this rivalry game a spot  among the NFL’s best.

In addition, the series has become quite competitive in recent years, with the teams splitting the last six meetings.
