14. Cincinnati Bengals – Cleveland Browns

The annual rivalry game between the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengal dates back to 1970, and has separated football fans of the state of Ohio for decades.

Neither team has experienced tremendous success throughout their history, particularly since football made its return to Cleveland in 1999. Neither team has won a playoff game since this date, and neither has ever won the Super Bowl.

But despite the relative futility of the two franchises, a heated rivalry has emerged nonetheless. Among the memorable moments from the series between AFC North rivals is two of the highest-scoring games in NFL history, both of which have occurred since the turn of the century.

In 2004, the Bengals defeated the Browns by a score of 58-48. The combined score of 106 points was the second-highest scoring game in NFL history, and just the third game ever to surpass the 100-point mark. Three seasons later, the rivalry would produce another one of the highest-scoring games the league has ever seen during a 51-45 Cleveland victory.

In addition to its in-state rivalry and high-scoring affairs, the series has become well-known for being fairly even throughout its history. The Bengals lead the series 44-39 all-time, but their lead has only developed in recent years. The series was tied in 2008, when Cincinnati began a 9-4 run.
