Fantasy football week 6 recap: Studs, duds, and sleepers
WR Studs
DeAndre Hopkins-Houston Texans: There were only two receivers with multiple touchdowns this week, and Hopkins was one of them as he continues to make a case that he could be the top receiver in the NFL. “Nuk” finished with ten catches on his 15 targets for an impressive 148 yards to go with his two touchdowns giving him five TDs on the year and more receiving yards than any other receiver in the league.
Calvin Johnson-Detroit Lions: Megatron emerged from his early-season hibernation with 166 yards and a touchdown in the Lions first win of the season. If you think there is a correlation between the first Lions W and Johnson’s big game, you’re probably onto something.
Alshon Jeffery-Chicago Bears: Jeffery returned and put up a big line in his first game action since week 1 finishing with 147 yards and a touchdown on his eight catches. He looks like he’ll be back to being a WR1 as long as he can stay healthy.
Steve Smith Sr.-Baltimore Ravens: Smith broke bones in his back TWO WEEK AGO, and he’s back already and contributing. He finished with 137 yards and a touchdown on his seven catches in the Ravens loss in San Francisco.
John Brown-Arizona Cardinals: The game didn’t start well for John Brown, but he finished with an amazing 196 yards in the Cardinals loss to the Steelers. He was targeted 14 times and he hauled in double-digit catches (10) for the first time in his career.
Emmanuel Sanders-Denver Broncos: While Demaryius Thomas had a case of the dropsies, Emmanuel Sanders had a big game against the Browns. Sanders finished with 109 yards and a touchdown although he only had four catches on his 11 targets.
Brandon Marshall-New York Jets: Marshall has been extremely reliable in his time with the Jets and put up another 100-yard game with a touchdown. He finished with seven catches on his nine targets and finished with 111 yards and a touchdown.
Keenan Allen-San Diego Chargers: Allen didn’t get into the end zone on Sunday in Green Bay, but he hauled in 14 passes for 157 yards. Allen actually left the game with time left in the third quarter with a hip injury, and was on his way to an even better game if he had been able to play the rest of the day out.
