In the midst of getting blown out at home in possibly their final home game of the season, the Blue Jays brought in utility man Cliff Pennington to pitch against the Royals.

The Toronto Blue Jays know how to entertain an audience. With the Blue Jays on the verge of being put on the brink of elimination and possibly playing their final home game of the season, they decided to give the home crowd and everyone watching around the world one last treat.

They brought in utility man Cliff Pennington to pitch in the 9th down 10. After runners got on base to start the inning for the Royals, John Gibbons decided that was enough. Rather than wasting another relievers arm before playing in an elimination game, he gave it to Pennington, who has pitched before in the big leagues during a blowout.

Two of the runners scored, but Pennington drew loud applause as he got Ben Zobrist to pop out to end the inning. It was impressive as Zobrist has been the offensive catalyst for the Royals in the American League Championship Series.

The Toronto Blue Jays in 2015, have left us all with memorable moments throughout the season and it appears that they’re going to leave us all with one more if they can’t come back and win this series in improbable fashion against the Royals.
