Darren McFadden-Dallas Cowboys (44.7)

While Christine Michael is the Cowboys’ running back with the most long-term upside, Darren McFadden has a new role which makes him a consideration for a flex play this week.  The veteran back had struggled through the first few weeks of the season, but seemed to find a niche in the Cowboys loss to the Patriots before their bye week.

McFadden’s new role is filling in as receiving back for Lance Dunbar who was lost for the season when the Cowboys lost in New Orleans on Sunday Night Football.  Stepping in for Dunbar, McFadden had nine catches for 62 yards in Weeden’s last game under center.  Matt Cassel may not check down quite as much as Weeden did (or at least Cowboys’ fans hope not), but I still think McFadden will play a big enough role to be owned in PPR leagues.

McFadden doesn’t have nearly the upside of Michael since he doesn’t have the durability to take over the primary back role, but he doesn’t have nearly the risk either.  Unless he’s injured he’s a fairly high-floor, low-ceiling pickup which can help your depth and give you a nice way to work through bye weeks if necessary.
